Dogs come in all shapes and sizes and the Basset Hound is no exception with its long ears and little legs. This is the fourth – and definitely not the final – dog pattern I’ve published. If you haven’t seen them already there’s a Labrador, a Dalmatian and a German Shepherd. This one may look a little more complicated than the others but it’s not really and those little legs don’t take long at all.

I’ve used James C. Brett Top Value DK (8428 & 8430) and Hayfield Bonus DK (chocolate 0947) to make this tri-coloured Basset. However, as they can have a variety of markings you can experiment with different colours and markings.

So go grab some yarn and a hook so you can get started on this little Basset Hound. Once you’ve completed make sure you share it on the Ravelry projects page

Use a yarn needle to sew all the parts together. I would recommend starting by adding the nose, face patch, eyes and ears to the head. Then sew the legs, head and tail onto the body (the picture below may help show you where the pieces should go).
