Here’s the second of my crocheted dog patterns – there’s still plenty more to come! This time, in case you hadn’t already spotted, it’s a Dalmatian. I’ve made this using two separate yarns James C. Brett Top Value DK (8430 & 8428) but if you can find a white yarn with black speckles that would probably work great.
As you crochet, you will add in random patches of black which means your finished Dalmatian wont look exactly the same as the one in the picture, each one will be unique. You could make 101 different Dalmatians if you wanted!
As with all the stuffed toys I make I used The Craft Factory Toy Eyes Solid Black – 9mm for the eyes. I normally suggested that you can use some black yarn to sew on eyes if you prefer but, I’m not sure it would work so well with this pattern given that there are already lots of black patches.
You can get started with the pattern below and once you’re finished remember to upload it to the Ravelry project page

dc – double crochet
trc – treble crochet
ch – chain
dec – single crochet 2 together
inc – 2 single crochet in one stitch
st/s – stitch/es
With the exception of the ears and nose, each piece should be made using the white yarn adding in random patches of black as you go. You should vary the size of the patches but I would recommend not making them any bigger than roughly 2×2 sc.

Use a yarn needle to sew all the parts together. I would recommend starting by adding the nose to the face followed by the ears. Then sew the legs, head and tail onto the body (the picture below may help show you where the pieces should go). Finally, add the eyes.

Now you’ve finished your Dalmatian, take some photos and share them on the Ravelry project page
