This week’s free crochet pattern is this amigurumi giraffe! It’s a really fun pattern and is super easy to make. It’s the first pattern of the amigurumi collection to have a different shaped body and it also has longer legs. Due to its long neck its stands a bit taller than all of the previous amigurumis, its roughly 6.5 inches (including the horns) as opposed to my other amigurumis which are usually around 4 inches.
To make this giraffe you are going to need yellow and brown dk weight yarn – I used Hayfield Bonus DK but you can use any you like. If you want your giraffe to be bigger you should use a heavier weight yarn and a crochet hook slightly smaller than recommended on the yarn label. For dk weight yarn I have used a 3.5mm hook and for the eyes I’ve used The Craft Factory Toy Eyes Solid Black – 9mm. You don’t have to use the plastic eyes if you don’t want to, instead you can sew on some eyes with black or brown yarn.
Materials
