This week’s free crochet pattern is this little tiger amigurumi which stands at about 4 inches tall. Being so small means it won’t take you long to make it and doesn’t require too much yarn – roughly 70 yards of DK weight yarn. It’s the perfect project to use up yarn left over from other projects. The pattern is simple, easy to follow and you’ll only need knowledge of a few basic stitches and how to do colour changes in order to make it.
To get started you’ll need three different colours of DK yarn – orange, white and black. I’ve used Hayfield Bonus DK and James C Brett Top Value DK but you can use any brand you like. You’ll also need a 3.5mm hook, stuffing and plastic eyes. You don’t have to use the plastic eyes, instead you could embroider the eyes on with black yarn but I highly recommend The Craft Factory Toy Eyes Solid Black – 9mm if you do want to use plastic eyes.
Once you’ve made your tiger amigurumi, upload some pictures of it to the Ravelry projects page so everyone can see!

Use a yarn needle to sew all the parts together. I would recommend starting by adding the nose, eyes and ears to the head. Then sew the legs, head and tail onto the body (the picture below may help show you where the pieces should go).
